本剧以警视厅公关二课为舞台，描绘媒体应对与刑事实务之间的矛盾与人性。原本志在进入搜查一课的刑警今泉麟太郎（福士苍汰 饰）突然被调往负责记者与信息发布的公关二课，不得不面对自己对记者的过去阴影。在课长安藤直司（绪形直人 饰）的带领下，他参与记者会、舆论应对、案件危机处理，与搜查部门及媒体之间斡旋。真实再现公关与刑侦交错的复杂现场，展现组织、人性与信念的交锋。
